The UK’s premier artificial grass manufacturer

TigerTurf introduces three innovative products for the construction of sub-bases.

These new products will be particularly useful for sports installations in difficult sites, which will now require less excavation and drainage work, cutting the construction costs of your turf significantly.

TenCate EcoceptTM will improve the base construction of synthetic turf surfaces; TenCate AccorderTM stabilises soils, reducing the excavation work normally required in constructing the sub-base; and TenCate SineTM is a shock pad constructed to absorb shock without compaction for longer than traditional pads do, and incorporating extremely effective drainage.

TigerTurf synthetic grass fields and courts need a high performance base to keep them at the peak of their potential. The sub-base is as much a part of your total sports system as the turf surface and underlay. Expert design and construction of the sub-base according to the site and the intended use of the facility is essential to the long-term success of your synthetic turf installation.

The construction of a traditional sub-base incurs a large proportion of the cost of installing a synthetic turf. The process of constructing your sub-base often results in a hefty carbon footprint as well, owing to the excavation work and transportation of materials on and off the construction site.

TenCate Ecocept™ is a new type of porous pavement specifically designed to function as part of the base system that supports TigerTurf sport surfaces. It improves the biomechanical properties of our sports turf surfaces, which reduce impact on players. Ten Cate Ecocept has the load-bearing capacity to reduce or eliminate the need for the conventional thick layer of crushed stone normally required for sub-bases. It functions as a performance layer with capillary drainage action, leading to superior lateral drainage capability.

TenCate Accorder® is a geotextile laid by TigerTurf as part of our base construction. It stabilises most soils effectively, without the need for deep base construction. Without the need for deep excavation, less soil will be removed from the site, less aggregate will be trucked onto the site, and less expensive soil types can be used in the construction of the base.

TenCate Sine® is a shock pad now used by TigerTurf that is made of cross-linked, closed cell polyethylene foam with a woven loop construction. It has been engineered to improve the technical performance of our sports turfs, along with providing effective drainage in both vertical and horizontal directions.
