All Weather Surface

Basketball is enormously popular at Port Ahuriri School in Napier, leading to the school’s request for an all weather basketball court to meet the needs of all the school teams throughout the year.

TigerTurf Multi-Use Courts Ready For Every Day Use

With no assembly hall, the school required a dry, shaded area in which to bring the entire school together, as well as a basketball court. The answer was to construct a roof from Shade Systems New Zealand over the new TigerTurf Trophy multi-purpose court to create one large area for school activities all year round. Class work, performances, assemblies, PE and games which can now take place without weather restrictions.

With only a little remedial work, the existing asphalt court was used as the base for the high quality TigerTurf Trophy sport surface, a positive start for this successful project and a happy school community at Port Ahuriri.
