Rotorua Boys High School

The Project

The Rotorua Boys High Story

TigerTurf has enjoyed working with
Rotorua Boys’ High School for the last
18 years; so naturally the school came
to us when it was time for three worn old
tennis courts to be upgraded. Not only
that, but we turned those three unusable
courts into six new top quality tennis
courts, with a good-sized hockey training
pitch as well.

Changes Made To Existing Courts

Rotorua Boys’ High School asked
TigerTurf to rejuvenate the school’s
existing tennis courts, which had become
slippery and dangerous with cracked,
broken surfaces. We were also asked to
increase the useable space around the
court area and open it up for more tennis
courts and a hockey pitch.

New Wett Pro hockey pitch for the Otago Hockey Association and Kings High School

TigerTurf constructed a new Wett Pro hockey pitch for the partnership of Kings High School and the Otago Hockey Association. We used an Ecocept base to stabilise and drain the site, implementing a system to drain the surface during major weather events and manage excess water within the site itself. Hockey is a tremendously popular sport in New Zealand for players and spectators. Our national teams compete successfully at international level, inspiring young hockey players to dedicate hours to practice and competitive play. This enthusiasm has led to schools and the Otago Hockey Association having more teams and talented players than the existing hockey facilities could accommodate. As the game has become faster, the players work hard to out-manoeuvre the opposition by pushing their ball skills to new levels. On a perfect surface, the impossible becomes possible – but New Zealand hockey needs young hockey players to develop into skilled, top-level players by playing on hockey pitches designed for this standard of play. At the same time, the sport needs more of these hockey pitches for our regional teams to use. Modern technical hockey surfaces bring teams the responsive, high-speed consistency required for players to develop skills that would be too high-risk on a natural turf surface. Add incredibly durable to low maintenance, and the TigerTurf Wett Pro hockey pitch goes to the top of the list.

TigerTurf Tournament 1000 revived this residential tennis court

TigerTurf reinvented the meaning of residential tennis court for a delighted Mt Eden client by bringing an unplayable, unattractive old court to energetic life with a brilliant velvet green, technical TigerTurf Tournament 1000 tennis surface. In the leafy retreat of our Mt Eden client, the fantastic TigerTurf Tournament tennis court is a superb court for family and friends to come and enjoy tennis fun with her. The rich green tennis court has become a fabulous garden feature as well as a high-quality tennis court that beautifully rejuvenated an unusable, unsightly old court infested with damp moss and mould that spoiled the family’s enjoyment of the garden. Resurfacing the tennis court with TigerTurf Tournament 1000 would give the client an excellent, all-weather tennis surface for play at every level. And there was no time to waste – our client was soon to host a very special event which included tennis, clearly impossible on the tennis court as it was. Therefore, TigerTurf had come to resolve her problem quickly.

TigerTurf Tournament in warm olive green changed a cracked, unplayable Blenheim family tennis court into a high-quality technical court the family can enjoy for years.
