Auckland University

Auckland University is proud of its rich heritage, within the busy academic centre of our largest city. This heritgage includes
the former Government House which has been used as a staff common room since 1969. The lawn and tables area outside
was rarely used, and the lawn needed regular maintenance, struggling through wet winters and dry summers.

Making room for a functional Space

• To make the space more functional,
the University decided a multi-sport
court would provide alternative
recreation space and encourage a few
break time challenges.
• The new TigerTurf Advantage court,
with line markings for volley ball, was
installed over the newly constructed
base which allows for appropriate
drainage and base stability.

Take a refreshing break for some energetic volley ball

• Students and staff can enjoy a break
and join in the fun of spontaneous and
organised games of volley ball on the
TigerTurf all-weather court.
• This central, busy area of the university
is now set up for lively ball games on a
dry, smooth green lawn court that can
be readily used for many recreational
activities all year round.

multi-sport surface that encourages players at the

while developing players can more readily improve their
skills on this technical tennis turf.
Advantage is at the top of our tennis range. It is an
extremely hardwearing medium pile surface and comes
with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
TigerTurf Advantage is also an excellent surface within
the Gym environment. Its hard wearing characteristics
make it ideal for resistance training, high impact and
indoor field sports.
