The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Team Leader to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and rostering staff, managing leave reporting and ensuring compliance
- Providing direction on the shop floor, managing labour recovery and prioritizing tasks
- Operating and overseeing the latex coating line, roll up and cutting line, tufting machines, including tasks such as Creel changes, yarn tying, machine set up, changeovers and maintenance
- Recording daily production data, ensuring adherence to the production plan, and meeting delivery targets
- Following bills of materials, operator instructions, and setup sheets accurately
- Monitoring product quality, ensuring first-time accuracy, and implementing control measures
- Reporting and investigating health and safety incidents or accidents
The successful candidate will have the following key qualities:
- Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in setting up production machines
- Demonstrated experience in supervising or leading a manufacturing team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- A leadership style that leads by example and thrives in a multicultural team
- Reliability, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic, especially in a busy manufacturing environment
- A cheerful, friendly nature with a positive “can-do” attitude
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak seasons (paid overtime)
- A valid NZ Forklift license (F endorsed preferred)
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa with at least 2-3 years of approval remaining
