Revitalising Play: Riverhead School’s Vibrant Sports Area Transformation

TigerTurf NZ collaborated with Riverhead School in Auckland to rejuvenate their outdoor sports facilities, creating a vibrant and functional space for students to enjoy a variety of activities. The updated facility includes basketball, netball, and 4-square courts, complete with vibrant line markings and a custom rules board to enhance usability. Locally manufactured in New Zealand, the Advantage Turf supports both sustainability and community values while delivering a premium sports surface. This transformation highlights TigerTurf’s commitment to crafting high quality,
multi-purpose spaces that inspire active play and skill development.

The TigerTurf Advantage

Advantage Turf is TigerTurf’s flagship product for tennis and multi-sport surfaces. It features a dense medium pile construction with an 11mm pile height, making it ideal for high-impact activities and resistance training. The sand-dressed surface ensures high ball bounce and consistent playability, regardless of weather conditions. Its non-directional surface guarantees resilience and longevity, making it perfect for school environments. The installation process included site preparation, laying an asphalt base, and ensuring proper drainage with a channel drain and silt trap.

The installation of the Advantage Turf was followed by infilling where necessary and adding line markings for the basketball court, netball court, and 4-square courts. A rules board was also installed to guide the students. The collaboration with Riverhead School was a rewarding experience, with the school staff being supportive and engaged throughout the project, contributing to a smooth and efficient process.

A key benefit of this project was the local manufacture of the Advantage Turf. Produced in New Zealand, the turf not only supports local industry but also ensures high-quality standards and quick turnaround times.
