The Broadlands Story

The Broadlands Story

Broadlands School principal, Graeme Taylor,
says: “Our new synthetic turf playground
encourages all our students to play sport;
hockey, netball, tennis and basketball teams
are having fun while improving their skills.”
The TigerTurf playground surface has drawn
more students to participate in sport at
Broadlands. The all-weather, durable turf is
available for play any day of the year, and
the teams are making the most of it. Their
keenness to play has lifted their skills, along
with their fitness, team spirits and enjoyment
of sport.
Chosen For Its Versatility

Chosen For Its Versatility

TigerTurf Trophy was chosen for its versatility
as a multi-sport turf and play surface. Its
durability, bright colours and superb playing
qualities make it an excellent sports turf for
schools, clubs and community facilities. A
sand-dressed surface tested to FIH national
standards, it is ideal for hockey, tennis and
other ball sports.

TigerTurf Trophy

TigerTurf Trophy is a dressed surface designed for
multi-sport use in schools and clubs. It is excellent for
hockey* and tennis and meets the exacting standards
of an FIH National category sand dressed field as well
as being ITF fast paced certified.
It also provides consistent performance for sports
such as basketball, netball and in playgrounds, as well
as a brilliant multi-purpose surface suitable for general
Gym use.

A Sense Of Achievement

The fresh green synthetic turf was installed over the existing asphalt surface, and marked up for several sports in brightly coloured lines. Our TigerTurf consultant spent time listening to the school’s requirements before advising that TigerTurf Trophy was the right turf for the students’ needs.

As so often, rain added to the fun during the installation process. However, we are used to that and the process was well managed throughout, to the school’s relief. The site preparation was thorough, to provide a long-lasting sports turf on which the students could safely develop their sports skills. The installation team kept fine-tuning the details until they’d got the playing surface just right.

The school appreciated the excellent communication they experienced with TigerTurf, the willingness to listen and make the changes needed to give Broadlands a high performing sports surface. Graeme Taylor commented, “TigerTurf’s service was great throughout the project.”

The students had plenty to say: “Good to play on,” said Lewis, year 6. “Better now, because we can play hockey on it and we don’t get hurt,” added Keaton, year 5. And Paige, year 6, was happy too: “Very good, because we can play our sports better now.”

In rain, frost or drought, the TigerTurf playground maintains a safe, reliable surface that absorbs all the energy that keen young players bring to their game.
