Case Studies
Coromandel community and school are justifiably proud of their dazzling new TigerTurf Trophy
multi-sports courts. Bringing a community together to play sports, socialise and share fun makes
all the planning and fund raising well worth the effort.

Education
The two TigerTurf sports courts at the
Coromandel Area School are ready for
play all year round, with a safe, clean
playing surface that performs consistently
throughout all but the very worst wet
weather.
TigerTurf first started talks with the school back in 2007. After 10 years of planning and fundraising, and with the backing of the Thames City District Council, the courts were completed before the onset of another wet winter.
Sports practices, competitions and PE classes can go ahead as planned. And, even better, the courts can be used for several different sports and activities.
Key considerations for the choice of Surface
The type of surface chosen was not made lightly. The surfaces needed to have the performance attributes required for several sports and be suitable for community use. Line marking were specifically required for tennis and netball. It also needed to be durable and easy to maintain.
TigerTurf Trophy, a multi-sport surface designed with schools in mind, met all these criteria with the added bonus of ITF ‘fast’ certification and having English Netball accreditation.
A solution for the whole Community
The versatile multi-sport courts come into their own in remote areas, serving the school and community with a sports centre to be proud of. As the first turf sports facility north of Thames, the courts will be busy with social and competitive sports throughout the year.
The Coromandel courts are magnificent; the pleasing effect of the olive green set in fresh green and contrasting with the deep sea blue edging makes line calls much easier. The clean, crisp white tennis lines gleam, while the bright yellow netball markings are easily read by players.
TigerTurf completed the picture with spanking new tennis posts and nets along with new netball posts and baskets – the new sports courts are ready for action! The courts were opened and blessed at a ceremony held at the beginning of July.
