Case Studies
TigerTurf Trophy is a fantastic multi-turf sports surface that solves a problem common to most schools: the need to accommodate growing school rolls, maintain a modern learning environment that meets the national curriculum, on a tight budget, with limited space for the necessary facilities.
TigerTurf
Multi-Sports
Redundant classrooms were removed from the school in order to create an outdoor multi-purpose area that was versatile, didn’t restrict creative play, yet was a low
maintenance, quality surface for more structured activities too, including hockey. Disconnected services were removed, new drains installed, and a strong, level, free draining base was constructed.
TigerTurf Trophy multi-sports surface
The selection of the right surface for Fernridge School was simple – TigerTurf Trophy has been the product of choice by many New Zealand schools since we first introduced it to schools, clubs and residential clients. Its reputation as a top quality, long-lasting sports turf has been well proven ever since.
A handsome, costeffective sports surface in appealing clear, bright colours, it is appreciated by its happy users as one of the best sports surfaces on the market.
The olive and emerald green turf colour was chosen to blend in with the rural setting and is used as a functional feature that defines the main playing area. Most multi-sports turfs we install are marked for several sports codes in distinguishing colours, and often include school emblems within the surface.
However, as Fernridge wanted to encourage its students to choose their own activities, minimal lines were used for this open-ended sports area.
This design feature has created a peaceful green space that settles the court naturally into its serene rural setting. Fernridge School students are making full use of their all-weather, low maintenance TigerTurf Trophy multi-purpose court for sports skills development, PE, recreational play and many other school and curriculum activities.
TigerTurf particularly enjoyed this successful project, and we are happy that the Trophy surface will long continue to give Fernridge School and students the excellent performance for which it was designed.
