The top-quality TigerTurf True Putt putting green and TigerTurf SuperGreen bowling green made a superb view even better for our residential customer in Golden Bay, Tasman.
How to make the most of a pandemic lockdown? With a passion for lawn bowls and golf, an extensive garden with fabulous views, our client knew already, and the fun began.
Southern Turf, the TigerTurf agent at the ‘Top of the South’ was given a clear brief by this motivated client, who wanted top quality bowling and putting surfaces professionally installed to give his family and friends a high standard of play in his own garden. Adjacent to the deck and large picture windows, the two greens had to be attractive garden features all year, requiring little maintenance to look handsome and provide a challenging game.
TigerTurf Lawn Bowls and Golf created the design for Southern Turf, to enable the customer’s builder to construct a double-act, high-performance residential sporting facility.

The restrictions resulting from the rapid spread of COVID 19 led New Zealanders to consider new recreational opportunities in their homes and gardens. Our client can now practise his roll and chip at any time – from the still of early morning till cool dusk – on his own all-weather, velvet smooth bowling greens. No irrigation, fertiliser or frequent spraying required to keep these greens in top form – the lawn remains a satisfying picture of serene perfection from the deck and landscape windows, through drought and rain.
Lockdown is the perfect opportunity for relaxed family fun, spiced with a pinch of competitive edge, on a private putting green, and what is surely NZ’s first private residential single rink bowling green.
The customer chose TigerTurf’s popular SuperGreen 2 synthetic bowling green surface and True Putt for the putting green. With these two fabulous greens, every player is going to enjoy a better game.
Alongside these enticing greens, looking out over a splendid view with a setting sun as backdrop, warmed by the outdoor fire and family chat, lockdowns and leisure time for this Tasman District family has become even more fun.
Let the good times roll…
