Lemonwood Grove School recently undertook a significant upgrade to its outdoor sports facilities, aiming to create a more engaging and weather-resilient environment for students. The school partnered with Multisport Surface, a trusted agent for TigerTurf, to deliver a solution that would meet both the practical and aesthetic needs of the school community.

Advantage TigerTurf Installation by Multisport Surface

The project centered around the installation of Advantage TigerTurf, a premium synthetic turf designed specifically for multi-sport use. Known for its durability and consistent performance, Advantage TigerTurf was selected to support a wide range of school sports and physical education activities. The surface was laid out to accomodate both a full-sized netball court and a basketball court, arranged end-on-end to maximise the available space. This configuration allows for efficient use of the area while supporting simultaneous back to back activities.

A Vibrant Multi Use Area for Students, Staff and the Wider Community

A standout feature of the installation is the two-tone blue color scheme chosen for the courts. This design not only enhances the visual appeal of the space but also improves line visibility, making it easier for players and referees to distinguish court markings during games. The vibrant colors contribute to a more dynamic and inviting atmosphere, encouraging students to participate in physical activity.

To ensure the courts could be used throughout the year, a large custom canopy was installed overhead by Shade Systems NZ. This canopy provides essential protection from both sun and rain, allowing for uninterrupted play regardless of weather conditions. The structure also adds a sense of enclosure and comfort, making the space feel more like a dedicated sports hub within the school grounds.

The collaboration between Lemonwood Grove School, Multisport Surface, and Shade Systems NZ has resulted in a facility that not only meets the school’s functional requirements but also reflects its commitment to student wellbeing and active learning. The new courts are already proving to be a valuable asset, supporting everything from structured PE lessons to informal lunchtime games. This project is a strong example of how thoughtful design and quality materials can transform a school’s outdoor space into a vibrant, multi-use area that benefits students, staff, and the wider community.

TigerTurf Advantage is an outstanding tennis and multi-sport surface that encourages players at the top of their game to extend themselves even further, while developing players can more readily improve their skills on this technical tennis turf. TigerTurf Advantage is also an excellent surface within the Gym environment. Its hard wearing characteristics make it ideal for resistance training, high impact and indoor field sports.
