Mangawhai Activity Zone

“TigerTurf were great to work with – helpful with ideas, and instrumental in making our vision a
reality.” The Mangawhai Activity Zone committee came to us when they needed a multi-purpose
sports facility for their community and we’re glad they did. What a great project!

The Activity Zone Story

The Activity Zone Story

TigerTurf has enjoyed being part of
the project and producing a multi-use
court marked up for tennis, netball,
basketball and football. We are delighted
to hear that it is already in constant use
at weekends and on public holidays
as families come together to use the
facilities and get to know each other.
Popular Adventure Park

Popular Adventure Park

The project began as a fund-raising
venture to build a skate park. The Kaipara
Council offered a 2.5 hectare site in
Mangawhai Park to be used for the
Activity Zone, which now includes familyfriendly
mountain bike and walking tracks,
an extensive (and extremely popular)
skate park, a children’s adventure
playground, and the all-weather, TigerTurf
multi-sports court.

TigerTurf Tournament 1000

TigerTurf Tournament 1000 is a medium-pile, sand
filled tennis surface. TigerTurf Tournament 1000 is a
durable, low maintenance tennis surface and has been
one of our most popular tennis surfaces, particularly in
schools, for over 30 years.
It is a medium pile, sand filled, fibrillated surface; hard
wearing, long lasting and designed for clubs and
multi-sport use in schools that have high usage on
their courts.

Years Of Reliable Performance

The durable, multi-sport TigerTurf Tournament 1000 surface we installed on the court will give years of reliable performance for several different sports, through all weather, and under heavy use.

When families arrive to play, the court will be ready for action. The members of the Mangawhai Activity Zone Charitable Trust worked hard for several years to achieve the community’s goal of a recreational sports area.

The community ran all kinds of social activities, which, together with grants from local businesses, the Lottery Grants Board, Foundation North, Pub Charity and the Council, along with individual donations, raised the necessary funds.

Originally planned to be a skate park, the facility now has a wider community appeal, and encourages family sports and recreational activities. We take our several hats off to these hard-working, far-sighted people; now they have time to sit on the park benches and watch the happy faces around them.
