Pauanui Waterways tennis courts are popular all summer

The Pauanui Waterways tennis courts are popular all summer. But, with torn seams and undulating surfaces, they had deteriorated beyond repair and become unsafe. The Pauanui Council asked TigerTurf to assess the damage and the cost of replacement. The budget had to be carefully managed, and the new courts had to be ready for the annual tournament at Christmas, which didn’t leave a great deal of time, given our own busy schedule.

TigerTurf Tournament is one of our most popular and durable multi-sport surfaces, which makes the Pauanui community courts excellent for many general sporting activities, as the community chooses. The project was completed within budget, according to specifications, and in time for a summer of tennis.

It is a medium pile, sand filled, fibrillated tennis surface. Its hardwearing, versatile yarn makes it suitable for courts of all types from private homes to tennis clubs and multisport use in schools

Tournament offers clubs genuine value for money

We understand the need to keep within budget constraints; and, as keen tennis players ourselves, we felt that anyone who persevered with their game on those run-down courts deserved something special in the way of tennis courts.

Repairing the base structure ready for the new TigerTurf tennis turfs

Our TigerTurf installation team lifted and removed the existing synthetic surfaces, before rebuilding the base. A stable base structure that drains freely is an essential element of the entire TigerTurf tennis system. Supported by a well-constructed base, the artificial grass surface will last many years longer, giving the high standard of performance that keeps our tennis surfaces in demand by keen tennis players.

The surface of the base was then bonded with TigerBond to stabilise the structure ready for the surface.

TigerTurf Tournament gives clubs genuine value for money

TigerTurf Tournament was selected as the best surface for the Pauanui Tennis Centre. Accredited by ITF as a medium speed surface, it is ideal for club tennis, accommodating players of mixed ability and age with an excellent game of tennis. Any player will perform better on a good surface, and the courts are now thronging with players, rain or shine.
