Remuera Intermediate School

TigerTurf takes pride in turning worn, unsafe, sports facilities into fresh, modern sports grounds for schools as we have for Remuera Intermediate School. The school grounds now look wonderful and, most importantly, the cricket teams have superb practice wickets that will attract more students into one of the top team sports in New Zealand.

TigerTurf had to work quickly to have the Remuera Intermediate School wicket and two practice nets ready for use before the winter. We planned the new surfaces as durable, modern cricket wickets to give students and coaches technical practice nets and a high-quality school cricket wicket for many years to come. And, of course, to look fabulous.

The TigerTurf construction team lifted and disposed of the old surface and filled in the old stump holes before installing the TigerTurf Premier cricket surface. This sports turf provides an excellent cricket surface for durable, high-use wickets in schools and clubs, and has been especially designed to offer reliable performance qualities in all weather for younger cricketers.

Worn practice cricket nets turned into safe, level, attractive cricket practice wickets

The surface of the old turf was uneven, posing trip hazards that cause injuries to bowlers, and can cause balls to fly up erratically for batters.

We constructed a new base for the durable Tournament 1000. This formed a safe, even bowlers’ run-up surface, raising the level of the bowlers’ end to that of the wicket by building it up with extra material. We then compacted and levelled the base material to 100mm, before installing TigerTurf Tournament 1000, creating a safe, smooth surface for the bowlers to use all year, even soon after rainfall.

TigerTurf Tournament 1000 is a durable, well-proven sports surface, frequently requested by schools and clubs to replace previous TigerTurf Tournament 1000 turfs worn out by years of happy use.

Premier artificial turf has been developed for younger cricketers, schools and clubs. With realistic turn and bounce, it allows players to develop their cricketing skills on a true surface – at an affordable price.

Premier is fire rated and suitable for indoor applications.

We resurfaced the concrete base at the batting end to create a durable, level surface for safe play. Then we installed TigerTurf Premier, a cricket surface designed to give school cricketers the best features for learning batting skills. Premier provides consistent turn and bounce, a true cricket surface for school and club teams.

The Remuera Intermediate School cricket teams couldn’t wait to give their new wicket and practice nets a thorough work-out. The sparkling, fresh new wickets have been clear winners with the school cricketers and community.
