“It looks amazing, and has modernised and lifted the look of the school.” Selwyn College now has 6 TigerTurf Tournament 1000 courts that Nigel Bennetts, Business Manager at Selwyn College, says have given the school a fresh new look and energy.
The College decided that their
keen sports teams deserved some
encouragement in the form of better
facilities. It was time for a change, and
Selwyn College pupils and staff are
delighted with the fresh modern look of
their new courts. The bonus of having
the turf surfaces permanently marked
for tennis, hockey, netball and futsal has
increased the numbers of students who
will be enjoying sport at the school.
The community has been invited to play on the courts too, by way of a roster run by the school. Previously, community tennis players had practiced on the courts, but now some serious
competition tennis is planned, with the school and community tennis players eager to take part.
TigerTurf Tournament 1000 is our most popular multi-sport synthetic grass surface, having been installed in New Zealand and Australian schools for over 20 years.
A durable medium-to-fast tennis surface, it gives an excellent playing performance for many other sports too, including hockey, basketball, netball and futsal. It is often used for school athletic tracks to provide a resilient, non-slip, all weather surface.
Nigel Bennetts commented on the commitment of the TigerTurf installation team: “I really felt you did a great job from the start of the process … we asked a lot of you and you were very helpful., working through and solving minor issues for a great result.”
We really appreciate the excellent working relationship we share with Selwyn College, and look forward to seeing the first tennis tournament for the summer.
