The Selwyn Ridge Story

The Selwyn Ridge Story

Selwyn Ridge Primary School believes it
has a sports facility second to none, and
rightly so. A hockey pitch, four multi-sport
courts, a four-lane sprint track, 2 volley
walls, and the TigerTurf Trophy surface
shimmering in bright blue marked up in
different colours for each sport, that’s a
winner for sure.
Top Of Its Game

Top Of Its Game

TigerTurf undertook the full build of the
Selwyn Ridge multi-sports turf, starting
with the construction of a dynamic free
draining base, designed to keep the
TigerTurf Trophy surface at the top of its
game for many generations of Selwyn
Ridge children. A well-designed base is
an integral part of every TigerTurf sports
system, including effective drainage
and stability to maintain year-round
performance. Completed with new goals
and fence, allowing easy access by
wheelchair, the new sports surface was
ready for action!

TigerTurf Trophy

TigerTurf Trophy is a dressed surface designed for
multi-sport use in schools and clubs. It is excellent for
hockey* and tennis and meets the exacting standards
of an FIH National category sand dressed field as well
as being ITF fast paced certified.
It also provides consistent performance for sports
such as basketball, netball and in playgrounds, as well
as a brilliant multi-purpose surface suitable for general
Gym use.

Magnificent In Cool Blue

After the grand opening of the new turf facility by Tony Ryall, local MP, every child at the school ran onto the pitch, along with Midlands Junior Black Stick, Amy Robinson, and Auckland Junior Black Stick, Deanna Ritchie, who gave some technical skills tips to aspiring Selwyn Ridge hockey players.

After four years of planning, obtaining consents, and then the construction process, the pitch was looking magnificent in cool blue; the sprint lanes were already in full use and groups of children were chasing hockey balls, basketballs and footballs.

With so many sports able to be played on the TigerTurf multi-sports Trophy surface, Selwyn Ridge School is certainly getting good value for its investment.
