The school needed a safe playing surface
that could be used for many sports and
games, all year round. With few such
facilities in Gisborne, the school was
particularly keen to have its own facility for
sports training. Now PE and after-school
training can be timetabled efficiently and
reliably at school. The new turf will also
host interschool sports competitions at
weekends.
The TigerTurf installation team began by constructing a TigerTurf Dynamic base to provide the best possible playing conditions, incorporating stability and drainage systems to support the sports turf at top performance for many years.
TigerTurf Classic is a useful, durable, multi-purpose sports surface for schools, accommodating ball sports, athletics and all outdoor games.
Presented in brilliantly clear colours that can be combined to become the favourite feature of your school, it is an economic turf for primary schools and for residential courts. Permanent markings for several sports offer versatility for training in more sports, engaging more students, more often.
Open for play in all seasons, the new sports turf at Sonrise Christian School is a great improvement on the previous turf. That was well past its use-by date, having been inherited from Gisborne Girls’ High in 2011 when it was superseded by a new TigerTurf facility.
The school is proud of its bright new sports facility: safe for play through the wettest winter and a fresh green through the driest summer, the TigerTurf Classic court has quickly become the focus of fun and fitness.
