The St John’s Story

TigerTurf was consulted by St John’s
Primary School, Auckland, some
time ago, with regard to the school’s
unsatisfactory playing field. Wet and
muddy for most of the winter, it was
unplayable; yet the school badly needed
more space for the students to exercise
and practise their sports.

Overcoming Problems

TigerTurf was asked to assess the
problem, and to tell the school if anything
could be done. TigerTurf advised the
school on the best way to overcome the
problem and at the same time extend the
use of the area.

TigerTurf Trophy

TigerTurf Trophy is a dressed surface designed for
multi-sport use in schools and clubs. It is excellent for
hockey* and tennis and meets the exacting standards
of an FIH National category sand dressed field as well
as being ITF fast paced certified.
It also provides consistent performance for sports
such as basketball, netball and in playgrounds, as well
as a brilliant multi-purpose surface suitable for general
Gym use.

Reliably High Standard Of Performance

St John’s now has a wonderful TigerTurf Trophy multi-sport facility that includes tennis, hockey, netball, and basketball. The children enjoyed watching the TigerTurf team carrying out the full build and installation of their new sports turf, being very excited about the changes.

They are thrilled with their new turf, which is in full use at every playtime. Now, eight hockey teams practise before school on the hockey turf, instead of having to be taken and picked up from a distance.

The tennis players love their new courts and are now working hard on their skills, improving all the time. The TigerTurf Trophy surface is designed to develop the skills needed for different sports and games. Tested to FIH National standards and certified ITF Fast, it is ideal for tennis, hockey and multi-sports. It is also durable, needing very little maintenance.

Marked up for several sports, the turf is ready for play every day of the year; a non-slip, all-weather surface that gives a reliably high standard of performance. The principal, Bernard Fitzgibbons, thanked TigerTurf for the wonderful new sports facility, for giving reliable advice, being accommodating, flexible and great to work with.

A true gentleman, and an extremely efficient principal. He also thanked the parents, who had worked amazingly hard for a long time to raise money for the new turf, including three gala days.

And that is hard work! We really enjoyed working with St John’s, which has a terrific school spirit. Seeing the children, staff and parents so delighted with their new turf gives us great satisfaction.
