Arrivals at the front entrance are delighted by the rich green TigerTurf Trophy lawn inset with brilliant, multi-coloured games for the surrounding junior classes. Who wouldn’t love a long, curvy snake to hop along, a colourful patchwork hopscotch to bounce along, and a fabulous giant clock in red, gold and circles around the central blue bull’s eye – a colourful, cheerful, playground within a perfect, lush lawn every day of the year.

The restful green TigerTurf Summer Envy 35 XWR landscape lawn around the base of the venerable old tree solves many problems for the school.
The tree stretches attractive lacy foliage over the lawn, the perfect, sun-safe lunchtime retreat for the junior students; however, the gnarled roots writhing over the lawn and closely beneath the surface at the base of the trunk made this impossible. Furthermore, the dense foliage reaching above the entire lawn prevented a lawn from establishing in the dry, dusty area beneath the tree.
The TigerTurf installation team built a 100mm base to form a stable, even surface over the mass of knobbly roots to lay the lawn over. A difficult installation, but a successful project that turned a long-time problem into an attractive feature, perfect for lunchtimes and relaxation.
Draining freely and providing protection for the tree’s life support system, TigerTurf Summer Envy turned the dusty unused area into a restful green velvet lawn beneath the splendid canopy.
Best of all, the eye-catching TigerTurf Trophy playground and the TigerTurf Summer Envy lawn beneath the tree will look as good as new every day for the next decade and more, without expensive irrigation and maintenance – a superb showpiece at the front of Stanley Bay School.
But there is more, much more. The glorious blue TigerTurf Trophy netball multi-court and basketball key behind the main classroom block forms a popular all-weather playground enticing students out to shoot netball, shoot basketball hoops, in fact nearly every ball game and playground activity they want to play with their friends.
PE timetables and activities can be maintained and enjoyed even more on the colourful new TigerTurf playgrounds.
A dry, soft recreational play area that is a cheerful outdoor classroom, an excellent multi-use surface for vigorous PE classes, a stage for drama creativity and discussion groups. The two four-square games at the end of the court in clear blues and reds and the professional Net Airtimes Basketball hoop in the basketball key provide endless fun for students. And while they have fun, they are developing coordination, fitness, and social skills.
The playground is open for play of every kind all year round and will reduce injuries from slips and grazes. And it’s delightfully clean, of course.
