Willowbank School

The TigerTurf Trophy surface we installed for the Willowbank School junior playground was
tremendously successful. Now the school needed a TigerTurf multi-sport facility for the senior
school, with a wish list that included hockey, football, cycling and running. We incorporated the long
jump pit for even more fun and extra versatility.

Lively Student Magnet

Willowbank School in Auckland loved their first TigerTurf surface, which led to the selection of TigerTurf Trophy
for the senior multi-sport facility as well. The dark green Trophy hockey and futsal field, encircled by a brick red
two-lane track for cycling and running, with a long-jump pit alongside is a vibrant, lively student magnet at the
centre of the senior school.

TigerTurf Trophy

TigerTurf Trophy is a dressed surface designed for
multi-sport use in schools and clubs. It is excellent for
hockey* and tennis and meets the exacting standards
of an FIH National category sand dressed field as well
as being ITF fast paced certified.
It also provides consistent performance for sports
such as basketball, netball and in playgrounds, as well
as a brilliant multi-purpose surface suitable for general
Gym use.

The existing grass field was often out of play during the winter months, as it became muddy and slippery. TigerTurf excavated the base, levelled the platform, installed drains and built a free-draining base that will remain dry all year.

The students at Willowbank School love their brightly coloured, high performing surface; the staff appreciate the dry, safe surface, ready for use every day of the year; the parents are delighted that their children are enjoying sports and outdoor activities on the new sports ground every day.

TigerTurf running tracks and bike tracks are popular additions to school sports facilities

Many of the students take part in the Bikes for Schools programme, so the bike container was incorporated within the design and a synthetic bike track installed to complete this amazing new facility.

Football, hockey, cycling, running, a long jump pit and most other outdoor school activities – Willowbank School now has a true multi-purpose facility that will provide a dry space for all sorts of outdoor play, exercise and education for many years.
