Challenger Pro, what’s new?
At TigerTurf, we’ve always been at the forefront of innovation in sports surfaces. Two decades ago, we launched the groundbreaking 3G surface known as Challenger. Made from a monofilament texturised fibre, Challenger quickly became a favourite among contractors and facilities across the UK and Europe.
Our journey with Challenger began in 2004 when Spadeoak completed the first UK installation at Westway Sports Centre. Since then, over 40 installations have graced educational facilities, sports stadiums, and community centres throughout the region. But as technology advanced, so did our commitment to excellence.

Challenger was eventually discontinued to make way for straight monofilament 3G innovations, but its legacy endured. Customers clamoured for its return, and we listened. Now, after 19 years, we’re proud to introduce Challenger Pro—a modern twist on a classic favourite.
What Makes Challenger Pro Stand Out?
- Advanced Yarn Technology: We’ve reimagined Challenger with a full monofilament semi-texturized yarn structure. This breakthrough allows us to create a surface that’s both hard-wearing and softer underfoot. Say goodbye to the harsh fibres of the past—Challenger Pro offers a more comfortable playing experience.
- Infill Encapsulation: Like some of our other 3G products (Premier Pro Elite and Atomic Pro Elite), Challenger Pro encapsulates infill. This means reduced infill requirements and minimal migration.
- Predictable Playability: Athletes deserve a level playing field. Challenger Pro’s uniform surface guarantees predictable ball bounce and smooth player movement, enhancing the overall game experience.
- Longevity: With stress-resistant yarn, Challenger Pro is built to last. Field owners can invest confidently, knowing their sports surface will withstand heavy usage and changing weather conditions.
- Enhanced Performance: The semi-texturized yarn not only feels great underfoot but also enhances ball roll and player traction. Athletes can make sharp turns, accelerate, and pivot with confidence, thanks to the surface’s consistent grip.
