Hythe Lawn Tennis Club

Situated on the banks of the Royal Military Canal, Hythe Lawn Tennis Club is one of the oldest tennis clubs in England. Formed in 1889, in the historic town of Hythe, the club operates eight courts for its members, four of which have recently been upgraded to TigerTurf’s Advantage Pro.

When the club felt they needed to offer an alternative surface to the eight macadam courts they had, they ruled out a clay surface due to the strong south westerly winds they endure.

The popular club appointed Chiltern Sports Contractors to carry out the exciting refurbishment, and with that, they recommend TigerTurf’s Advantage Pro. A soft, responsive surface well-loved by players of all ages. Advantage Pro has a court pace rating of medium and provides the busy club with an outstanding surface that will stand the test of time, just like Hythe LTC!

Financed by the clubs’ own funds, the courts have been well-received as an added benefit for all members. The four artificial grass courts have increased playing hours by five hours day and have been fully booked since they opened.
