The school’s new hockey and tennis facility has been a long time in the planning, but it was always going to be a high performance sports centre for training, games and tournaments up to international standard.
TigerTurf Evo Pro offers all these qualities, and more. As one of our , Evo Pro is manufactured from our advanced texturised monofilament yarn. An outstanding hockey turf, it is also superb for tennis and several other sports, even soft enough for recreational football. And did we mention tough, durable and safe for all footwear?
TigerTurf Evo Pro was chosen by Hamilton and Alexandra College after seeing the impressive Evo Pro hockey surface at Melbourne Grammar, which is also great for tennis and multi-sports use.
The Hamilton and Alexandra Evo Pro surface is a dressed surface: it has a layer of sand to support the base of the yarn blades and keep them upright, but is not filled with sand. This is a useful feature for schools – hockey sticks are not damaged by constant abrasion with sand, and sand is not carried off the surface into classrooms.
Hockey can be played on the surface either wet or dry, an especially desirable feature where water is a premium. It allows schools and organisations to have the surface in play as a dry surface, with the option of switching it to a wet surface in the future.
TigerTurf constructed the new facility throughout a demanding Victorian winter, with all the inclement, variable conditions it could throw (and did) at our construction team.
The construction team carried out the full excavation, and then built a stable, asphalt base to support the Evo Pro turf system, including a rubber pad beneath the surface.
The paths, surrounds and fencing were installed, and the turf was ready for play when the clouds rolled away.
