TigerTurf surfaces are manufactured in Auckland, New Zealand, using the world-renowned TenCate yarns, which are held in high regard internationally for their incredibly durable quality. TenCate XP Pro yarn gives TigerTurf Endurance Play its incredibly durable, high-performance qualities. The durable performance of TenCate XP yarn is backed by an extended warranty against excessive fibre splitting and wear for a full five years, offering peace of mind and lasting value for our customers. As the fulcrum at the heart of the school, the oval is subjected to constant foot traffic every day. Therefore, TigerTurf provided the school with an oval that is an especially durable, safe, and comfortable route through the school. TigerTurf designed and constructed a top quality, multi-purpose school oval for Holy Trinity School For this spectacular design It was agreed that the multi-sport court on the oval should feature the highly durable TigerTurf Endurance Play surface, including soccer, futsal, AFL and softball. The oval was carefully planned to create areas for structured PE classes as well as general play for recess and lunchtime. Students were invited to join the discussions regarding the final design before construction began. The sweeping border outside the main playing field features a bright medley of lively colours in TigerTurf Tournament, with a superb red and blue running track and an enticing variety of popular games in brilliant jewel colours enlivening the perimeter of the oval.
The site for the new school was wet, muddy and overgrown with grass, more fit for a paddock than a busy school oval. The geographical location of the school site, Sunbury, sits within a highly reactive area of Victoria. Having had experience of this type of construction site, TigerTurf engaged an independent geotechnical engineer to carry out all relevant site testing to establish the site-specific subgrade conditions. This gave TigerTurf and the school all the information they needed in preparing the site for the school oval. As thought, the recommendation was to build a substantial base platform that included a 200mm capping layer to mitigate the amount of moisture infiltrating into the reactive base beneath. The TigerTurf construction team built the substantial site-specific base platform according to the recommendation, ready for the bright, colourful surface installation.
The central oval will also be perfect for assemblies, meetings, drama performances and al fresco classes – a handsome multi-purpose school for use every day, through every season, with very little maintenance.
The TigerTurf oval at the heart of Holy Trinity Primary School will continue to be a well-used, enjoyable feature of the school for over a decade.
