Chirnside Park Primary School had an area that was unusable for most of the year. Victoria’s difficult climate parched the ground to dust in summer and kept it soggy all winter. However, the school needed that area for a variety of activities all year round. When the school asked TigerTurf to come up with an answer, we had the perfect solution.
TigerTurf Tournament 1000 has been long proven as an excellent all-weather, multi-use surface for school playgrounds and sports areas. TigerTurf assessed the area closely and designed a sub-base that would keep the playground in action all year round. The hardworking school council led the fundraising efforts and, after discussion with TigerTurf, decided to extend the project to include a pleasantly soft TigerTurf grass lunch area for the children. The base construction and installation of the play surface was completed according to plan and the soft, colourful playground was soon ready for fun.
The TigerTurf play area has been terrifically popular with the children. They are drawn to the fresh vibrant playground at every opportunity – for PE games, outdoor class activities, and after school. The benefits have been appreciated by students and teachers.
TigerTurf was happy to hear good news from Janelle Wadsworth: “The playing surface was so soft underfoot that some children took their shoes off.” Tournament 1000 is very kind to
bare feet, enticing children to sit and chat, eat, and play.
