Playground helps inspire creative play

Merri Creek Primary School needed a durable, low maintenance surface for structured learning, such as PE classes, and for general recreational activities and playtimes. And of course, was keen to have clear markings and soft textures the students would love and to inspire creative play.

TigerTurf was engaged by the architects managing the redevelopment at Merri Creek Primary School in Fitzroy to assist with the design of a playscape for the school, advise on the best playground surface for the project and install the new synthetic turf. TigerPlay was selected by the architects as being the best playground surface for Merri Creek. It was designed for the purpose, and, not surprisingly, is the most popular playground turf for schools.

TigerPlay is a low pile, dense surface with minimal sand infill, qualities that make it the favourite surface for schools, but there is more to TigerPlay than that. Produced with all levels of education in mind, it offers them even more desirable qualities: safe for play in all weather, fast-drying, hard wearing, softer, less abrasive than many traditional sand-filled synthetic turf surfaces – the ideal playground surface for primary schools.

TigerPlay comes with a generous palette of vibrant colours, creating appealing designs for sports and games to attract and inspire student play. As well as being less abrasive, the minimal sand infill does make this a clean playground surface, with little, if any sand, carried indoors on student footwear or clothing.
