The Puckapunyal Army Training Centre is the largest in Victoria, with over 2000 people living on the base. The school role has reached 500, and is likely to expand further, but the school grounds cannot. "Thanks, TigerTurf, for our wonderful new playground and walkway, and for your excellent service,” Kevin Warne, the school principal of Puckapunyal Primary School, is delighted by our transformation of the cracked grey asphalt surface.
The old asphalt playground, that was the main play area for the students, also served as a walkway between areas of the base. Although clean and tidy, it no longer provided a safe passage. The old cracked surface was lifting causing some students to trip, fall and hurt themselves.

This had become a major problem that needed resolving. TigerTurf, taking up the challenge, created an attractive play area bringing light and interest into the area for all users, and some vibrantly coloured activities for the children.
The solution was our Tournament 1000 multi-sport surface, manufactured to offer schools and clubs a cost-effective way to extend the usability of your limited playing area. We can design brilliantly coloured activities such as four-square, hop-scotch, and chess as part of the surface, alongside a tennis court also clearly marked for futsal and hockey.

The installation team repaired the cracked and patched asphalt to create a level, well-draining base for the TigerTurf Tournament 1000 playground.
This colourful, durable multi-purpose synthetic surface is suitable for ball sports, outdoor activities, classwork and recreation, PE classes and as a walkway it is smooth, clean and easily maintained.
Luckily for the students, the new playground is ready for use soon after rainfall, and even when wet it provides good traction.
Kevin Warne tells us the playground at Puckapunyal is now used all day by students, whose love of outdoor, energetic play has been reignited by the enticingly bright and cheery playground; their enthusiasm shared by the Puckapunyal community, who enjoy the area during the weekend.
