Production Operative

TigerTurf are the UK’s Premier Artificial Grass Manufacturer. We design and produce synthetic grass sports fields for the UK, Europe and Middle East markets.

We are looking for new Production Operatives to join our tufting team in Hartlebury.

The details:
  • Shifts are 37.5 hours per week:
  • Mon – Fri rotating each week, week 1: 06:00 to 14:00, week 2: 14:00 to 22:00 or permanent night shift Sun to Fri 22:00 to 06:00.
  • Rates of pay start at £10:55 to £11:85 (depending on experience, if certified counterbalance FLT Operator etc.) and will be reviewed after the 3-month probationary period. £25 per shift incentive for night working (subject to medical capability).
  • Free parking, subject to qualifying criteria: company pension, life insurance, 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) rising by 1 day per each year to 25 days max.
The Job:

Your main tasks & duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Creeling – Understand Production Order information and all associated raw material (yarn & primary backing cloths) codes. Use handheld scanning device to allocate pallets of yarn to T1 – T9 tufting machines (TMs). Load/unload bobbins to/from T1 – T9 creels. Use yarn air splicer, operate hand-pallet truck and yarn stripping machine. Operating the baler and returning pallets of yarn to stock.
  • Tufting – Understand Production Order information, all tufting machine controls and settings, to operate T1 – T9 (TMs) and produce semi-finished (S/F) product (plain green and with bespoke colour profiles). Complete weight/QC checks, use a range of work equipment & tools (mechancial handling, trollies, power and hand tools etc). Replacing TM consumable parts (knives, needles, loopers etc.) Using NAV on a computer and handheld scanning device.
  • To maintain excellent standards of housekeeping, waste management, documented information, respect the workplace, work equipment and colleagues.
  • Fulfil all duties and responsibilities in accordance with company protocol (e.g. policies, handbooks, risk assessments, standard operating procedures, work instruction, toolbox talks, training, instruction, supervision, company values), proactively contribute in meetings and professional development opportunities to continually improve skills, competence, knowledge and safety of self and others.

Full training will be provided, if candidates do not have previous similar experience in a carpet manufacturing setting.
